Family-run moving and storage for East Sussex, West Sussex, Surrey and Kent — with international shipping to over 200 destinations worldwide. Find your town below or call 01323 848 008.
Every job on the list below runs out of a single base — our Lower Dicker depot on the A22, twenty minutes north of Eastbourne, ten minutes south of Hailsham, half an hour east of Lewes. That central position is why a Mark Ratcliffe crew can be loading in Brighton by 9 am and unloading in Bromley by lunchtime, or starting a Tunbridge Wells move at first light and reaching Bognor Regis by mid-afternoon. The whole of Sussex sits inside a 45-minute crew window from the depot; Surrey and Kent both sit inside 75 minutes.
The four county pages below collect every town and village we move households in and out of regularly. Click a county heading for the regional overview; click any town for the local removals page with prices, access notes and frequently asked questions specific to that area. If you don’t see your postcode, call the office on 01323 848 008 — we cover more places than we publish, and we regularly run jobs further afield (London, Bristol, Edinburgh, the West Country) when the volume justifies a dedicated lorry.
A town being on our list means three things: we’ve moved households there before, we know the practical access details (parking restrictions, narrow streets, conservation areas, lift-availability in flats), and we can quote with confidence because we have prior cubic-foot data from similar properties in the area. New customers in covered areas usually get a written quote within 48 hours of their initial enquiry; new customers in nearby uncovered areas typically get a quote within 72 hours after a survey.
Removals pricing combines two figures: volume (cubic feet of household goods, which sets the vehicle and crew size) and distance (one-way mileage from your old address to the new one, plus our depot trip at each end). Local Sussex moves — Eastbourne to Lewes, Hailsham to Hastings, Polegate to Pevensey — usually fit a single working day at flat per-cu-ft pricing. Cross-county jobs (Sussex to Surrey, Sussex to Kent) typically still complete in a day if loaded early. Long-distance and overseas jobs get an extra leg charge that’s itemised separately on the quote, never bundled with the local rate.
Our international removals service is dispatched from the same Lower Dicker depot regardless of where your UK origin address is. Brighton to Bangkok, Worthing to Western Australia, Eastbourne to Edmonton — the partner-agent network and the documentation are identical. The only variable is the size of the container and the destination port, both of which are surveyed in person before quoting.
The four county hubs below aren’t marketing labels — they reflect how our depot routing actually works. East Sussex is our home county: Eastbourne, Hailsham, Hastings, Bexhill, Lewes and twenty smaller towns. We have crew leaving the depot for East Sussex jobs first thing every morning and we know the back-roads, parking restrictions and conservation-area rules across the whole of the South Downs.
West Sussex — Brighton, Worthing, Chichester, Horsham, Crawley — runs as the second county-of-day for the same crews. Surrey jobs (Guildford, Reigate, Epsom, Woking, Farnham) are dispatched as longer-distance day-runs or two-day jobs for larger volumes. Kent jobs (Tunbridge Wells, Sevenoaks, Bromley, Canterbury, Maidstone) usually run as cross-county day-jobs out of the depot, sometimes pairing with a London leg.
If you don’t want to scroll the full list below, the towns customers ask about most often are Eastbourne, Hailsham, Bexhill, Brighton, Hove, Worthing, Lewes, Seaford, Hastings, Newhaven, Polegate, Pevensey, Heathfield, Uckfield, Crowborough, Tunbridge Wells, Sevenoaks, Tonbridge, Guildford, Reigate, Horsham, Crawley, Epsom, Woking, Farnham, Dorking, Burgess Hill, Haywards Heath, Chichester and Bognor Regis. Each has a dedicated page with depot routing, common property types in the area, typical move volumes and a short FAQ tailored to local quirks.
Don’t assume we don’t cover it. Our published list is the towns we move households in and out of every month; we also handle one-off moves to and from places further afield (especially when storage at our depot is part of the move). Call the office on 01323 848 008 and we’ll tell you in two minutes whether we can do it from our depot or whether a partner BAR-member closer to you would be a better fit.
Two removal companies quoting the same Sussex job from different depots will produce different prices — not because one is more honest than the other, but because mileage and crew-hour costs differ. A Brighton-based remover quoting an Eastbourne-to-Lewes move is paying for a 30-mile dead leg before the job even starts; a Croydon-based remover is paying for 70+ miles of dead-leg costs. Our Lower Dicker depot sits at the geographic centre of the four counties we serve, which is why our quotes for Sussex moves are usually competitive even compared to firms based in the destination town. The same logic applies in reverse for moves we don’t take on — if your move is entirely within outer London or central Kent, we’ll usually recommend you check a local BAR-member first because their depot proximity may beat our pricing.
Some services have tighter geographic footprints than others. Man-and-van works best within a 30-mile radius of the depot, so we cover all of East Sussex, most of West Sussex, west Kent and the southern half of Surrey. Self storage is a destination service — customers from anywhere bring possessions to our depot — so there’s no geographic limit. Piano moving and antiques moving are dispatched UK-wide because they’re specialist crew jobs that don’t depend on the same depot routing as a normal house move. Full packing follows the removal radius. If a service makes sense for your area, the relevant town page above will say so directly.
Our home patch. Same-day surveys, fixed-price quotes, crews who’ve worked these streets for decades.
